My anti-Christmas LED grouchiness is getting outdated

Sales of LED Christmas lights are booming, reports the NY Times - despite grumps (like me) who think they look horrible and ruin the season. That’s good, of course; stick-in-the-mud tradition shouldn’t block efficiency.
Having said that, you’ll have to pry my incandescent Christmas lights from my cold, dead fingers!

I'm with you on how they look. There is no warmth to them, and that may be the problem. There is such pleasure in seeing multicolored lights on the outside of a house as much as on a tree inside.

Your fingers might be dead, but they won't be cold if those incandescent lights are still plugged in.
