“ClimateGate as Rorschach Test”

Nothing local that I can find, so let’s take another look at the ClimateGate email controversy - by stealing other folks’ coverage:
Freakonomics blog: “ClimateGate as Rorschach Test” - a good look at how reactions to ClimateGate often follow predictable patterns. It reaches no conclusion about whether or not they undermine the science behind global-warming, which is the only question that really matters, but a very hard question to answer.
Daily Beast (update link Mon., Dec. 7): “Skeptic’s Guide to Copenhagen” - funny putdowns of the global warming science crowd
Nature (updated link Sat., Dec. 5): “Stolen e-mails have revealed no scientific conspiracy, but do highlight ways in which climate researchers could be better supported in the face of public scrutiny.”
Washington Post: (updated link Sat., Dec. 5): “But recent debate … show that climate science is still science, with researchers drawing different lessons from the same data. The problem is that it plays out before an audience that won’t wait for certainty.”
Telegraph (UK): Scientists at the center of the controversy agree to publish their basic data in full. Earlier demands for this data, largely from skeptics hoping to undermine global-warming science, helped lead to the whole imbroglio.
The Hill: Sen. Boxer says hackers should face criminal charges.
