Best. Corporate slogan. Ever.

A German solar-power firm called Solon has this as its corporate slogan:
- Don’t leave the planet to the stupid.
Wow. I bet “suffer fools gladly” is not part of their mission statement.
(I’m assuming that isn’t a bad translation - even if you go to their German-language site, the slogan is still in English.)
Thanks to Dimtri Cherny of Newmarket-based Highest Wind, who pointed this out. We’ve mentioned Highest Wind before - it’s developing tethered kites for wind-power production, sort of a poor man’s very tall wind turbine. (Speaking of wind, here’s a funky little piece from Maine: A wind farm may not go on Black Mountain because it’s too windy!)

Reminds me of the windmill test site run by the government at Rocky Flats in Colorado. The average wind speed looked OK for testing to the experts choosing the site. However, what we had was several days of zero to low winds followed by 100 MPH gust out of the mountains. Two of the engineers assigned to the site had the rear windows blown out of their cars during one of these episodes.

Ja, that's a real uber-slogan. Has a great combination of self-righteousness and arrogance.
