Eugene Mallove case proceeding slowly

For a while, Gene Mallove was probably New Hampshire’s highest-profile scientist - although he didn’t get much mainstream support because his forte was championing cold fusion (he wrote "Fire from Ice," a 1989 book about the Pons/Fleischman controversy, and co-founded "Cold Fusion" magazine, which is now "Infinite Energy").
Unfortunately, Mallove was murdered in 2004 while visiting his childhood home in Norwich, Conn. Conspiracy theories swirled from the conspiracy-prone (hot-fusion advocates did it! MIT finally got its revenge!) until local police arrested two men, claiming the killing came during a botched burglary. After that, the news died down.
I just found out from Mallove’s wikipedia entry that the trial hasn’t even started yet, as this Norwich Bulletin article says. The article makes it sound like the case is a bit iffy … maybe the conspiracy talk will start again.
